Two years after their experimental ambient set in Pritličje, the duo known as the leading force of the Cosmic Sex series and Partijska linija show on Radio Študent once again shows off its non-club persona. They are coming to osmo/za with the project I AM BIENT, an audiovisual DJ set joining and exploring the potentials of a traditional DJ set and live manipulation of analog video signals, creating an intense sensual experience of sound and images.

I AM BIENT represents the placement of a DJ set - traditionally a club or radio format - into a "gallery" context. It addresses the current understanding of ambient music and its still relevant connotations as some kind of sound backdrop weaving in the background of our lives. It confronts the listener - or rather the spectator - with the following question: Is it possible to place "ambient" in the foreground and listen to it actively?

Jaša's selection represents an intersection of different ages of "non-functional", experimental or ambient sounds on the crossroads of old and new ambient, drone, texture-rich noise, 70's and 80's electronica, sound design, field recordings, musique concrète and other fragments of the musical heritage. The sound is complemented with unpredictable real-time video feedback manipulations, the direct product of Blaž reacting to the music.
